The BA in Business Management top up programme is equivalent of the final year of a Bachelors degree. For candidates who hold a business related HND, associate degree or an equivalent qualification, this is the final step to attain a full Bachelors degree in Business Management.
The programme is designed to develop the student's understanding of various concepts and functions of a business and enhance their skills and knowledge gained in your previous studies and work experience.
The course material covered in the programme helps students develop critical, analytical, and creative approaches to business, as well as strengthens the student's knowledge base of business theories, enabling them to apply these concepts in practical business situations.
Students can choose to specialise within the field of Finance, Hospitality HRM and Marketing.
The programme employs contemporary business knowledge with an international perspective, which will allow you to succeed in today's rapidly evolving global business environment.
The university's online learning platform offers students the opportunity to network and develop relationships within a global community of learners, communicate with highly qualified personal tutors, as well as submit module assessments within the specified submission dates.
On successfully completing the programme, students will be awarded with a complete Bachelor degree in Business Administration, providing a platform for students to enhance their professional profile and career opportunities.
The ideal applicant must be able to demonstrate basic theoretical knowledge and understanding of business processes, financial accounts, marketing and operations. For this purpose, the applicant must hold 240 SCQF credits / 120 ECTS credits at SCQF level 8 or equivalent in a related business and/or management topic.
Mature applicants are also encouraged to apply and applications are assessed on a case by case basis taking into account recognition of prior learning (RPL) as mapped and appropriate.
Non-standard entry: For applicants without formal qualifications, the University will consider these on a case-by-case basis. In general, 3 years or more relevant working experience will be required.
For applicants whose first language is not English, an approved English language test is normally recommended, however, alternative options can be further discussed with your personal academic consultant.
